[Show Review] Korean rapper Sik-K makes a triumphant return to Singapore

Korean rapper Sik-K made a triumphant return to Singapore on Thursday (Aug 24), three months after his appearance in Drip Singapore, hitting the stage at the Capitol Theatre for his one-night-only concert that left fans enthralled.

After visiting Singapore in 2019 for his FL1P Tour and in May this year for Drip Singapore’s Drip82 event, Sik-K returned for his LIVE tour on Thursday, bringing along DJ SMMT as well as local hip-hop artist, Shigga Shay.

In a beige ensemble topped with a cute beanie, Sik-K kicked off his performance with tracks from his latest album “POP A LOT,” including tracks like “대명사 SIK” and “28 (Bonus),” setting the crowd alight with excitement. Between tracks, Sik-K did not forget to share his love for Singapore and his fans by singing praises of the city: “Singapore, you are the best, you are the best in the world!”

Sik-K also asked if fans were present at his appearance in Drip Singapore three months ago and the resounding screams provided a clear response, showing the popularity of the rapper.

Around 8.20pm, Sik-K momentarily stepped aside, ceding the stage to local hip-hop artist Shigga Shay, who dished out various tracks including Bo Beh Zao – a standout from his appearance on ‘The Rap Of China’ – as well as uRight, his collaboration with Jay Park. Shortly after, Sik-k joined Shigga Shay back on stage as they treated fans with an exclusive live preview of their upcoming collaboration track. They revealed that the track had been recorded a mere two days ago and is scheduled for release in September.

Sik-K also promised that he would be coming back to Singapore with his label mate, Haon, who signed with Sik-K’s company KC Entertainment after parting ways with H1GHR Music. Sik-K proceeded to hype up the crowd further with crowd-favourites like “Iffy,” “Rendezvous,” and “Darling,” before concluding the night on a high note with the well-known banger “Party (shut down).” and a group photo with fans.

Before making his departure, Sik-K descended from the stage, exchanged high-fives and spontaneous snapshots with concertgoers, and even took a moment to personally autograph albums for a handful of lucky fans, bringing the night to a triumphant close.
