EVNNE, a 7-member boy group that debuted September last year under Jellyfish Entertainment, consisting of members who took part in the MNET series ‘BOYS PLANET’ is set to bring their Asian tour to Singapore on April 5, 2024. Prior to their second stop of the Asian tour, KBeats Singapore had the opportunity to speak with EVNNE through an online interview.

Q: As this is EVNNE’s first Asia Fan-Concert tour, how are you guys feeling right now? 

Lee Jeong-hyeon: We’ve been looking forward to the day that we can meet overseas ENNVE and we are really thankful that we finally we got the chance to do this tour. We’re working hard to prepare fantastic stages to show ENNVE!

Ji Yun-seo: We’ve all been dreaming of doing a tour and holding a concert. We’re really looking forward to this, we’ve been working really hard preparing for the show to make sure ENNVE have a really good time when they watch us. I’m really excited to meet and communicate with ENVVE from various countries. 

Yoo Seung-eon: As an artist who works with pop music, I think our ultimate goal is to give everyone happiness. Through this tour, we are able to meet ENNVE from various countries and share our energy and happiness. I feel like we are able to get one step closer to our goal of spreading happiness with this fan concert tour so we are really looking forward to doing this tour.

Q: How are you guys preparing for the tour?

Keita: We are working really hard preparing for the tour. We had our concert in Seoul last weekend and fans cheered us on a lot. They had a lot of fun cheering and screaming. We are really looking forward to how ENNVEs from other countries will be cheering us on. We’re preparing really hard to hear those cheers. I’m very excited!

Park Han-bin: As this tour is right after our promotion of our second mini album and we are meeting our overseas ENNVEs, we are really working hard to show a better side of ourselves!

Q: Could you share if there are any shocking stages like this that fans can look forward to in the Singapore stop?

Mun Jung-hyun: We can’t spoil too much as we need to keep ENNVEs excited for the show. We can’t say that there are no special stages, we definitely have special stages set aside for our Singapore ENNVEs so I hope they can be excited about that!

Q: Is this the first time that you guys will be coming to Singapore?

Mun Jung-hyun: I’ve been there very briefly once.

Others: Yes.

Q: What are you guys looking forward to in Singapore?

Park Ji-hoo: I really want to go see the Merlion at the Merlion Park and eat chilli crab.

Park Han-bin: I want to try Satay.

Ji Yun-seo: I really like hotels so I really want to see Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the hotel with a boat on top of it.

Q: What is your favourite song to perform on stage?

Yoo Seung-eon: I want to pick our song ‘Role Model’. I think because I got my dream of becoming a singer by watching senior artists and treating them as my role models. The song role model also delivers a lot of energy so it’s really fun to watch and listen to. 

Ji Yun-seo: For me, it’s ‘Festa’ which is produced by our Keita hyung. It’s a song that‘s easy for everyone to enjoy together and I think it’s the song that connects us with ENNVE while performing on stage so I really have a lot of fun performing that.

Q: What are 3 personal belongings you must bring with you when you travel?

Park Han-bin: Camera, sunscreen and glasses

Lee Jeong-hyeon: Power bank, wallet and AirPods.

Yoo Seung-eon: Handphone, wallet and pyjamas.When I actually go abroad to perform, I really don’t pack anything else so those are my essentials.

Q: Do you have any special rituals or habits you do before your concerts?

Ji Yun-seo: I have a special handshake with Jihoo that kind of calms us down before we go on stage.

Park Ji-hoo: Before I go on stage, I try to get rid of all my excess energy by jumping around backstage.

Q: Congratulations to you guys for getting two music show wins for your second title track “UGLY”! Could you share with us how you feel now performing the song after achieving such results with it?

Keita: After achieving these results with UGLY, we are trying hard not to leave a bad impression on the song. We are also making sure that people don’t get disappointed when seeing future stages of ugly as well. We want people to think “Oh, such a good song existed!” Therefore, in order to put on a better show we are really focusing a lot on our live singing and performance. 

Q: Please say something to Singapore ENNVEs!

Keita: To our ENNVEs in Singapore, we are going to be visiting you guys really soon. So we are really hoping we can have a lot of fun together during the concert! If you can, could you also sing along with us and have a memorable time together?
