CNBLUE, the legendary South Korean rock band with a remarkable 15-year journey made a triumphant return to the Singapore stage after seven years. As the Indoor Stadium lights dimmed, CNBLUE fans (also known as BOICE) eagerly chanted in anticipation for the band’s unparalleled music.

The band kicked off the concert with some of their most iconic hits such as “Loner”, “Love” and “Intuition”, with leader and vocalist Jung Yong-hwa hyping the audience to sing along with him during the choruses. Amidst the energized performances, Yong Hwa impressed the audience with his guitar skills and ad-libs, showcasing his undeniable vocal skills which left the crowd in awe.

The audience erupted in cheers and enthusiastic sing-alongs to every song in the band’s set list, which included a mix of well-known singles and more recent releases. This demonstrated the band’s continued appeal and popularity even after 15 years since their debut.

Throughout the evening, the band took the time to express their gratitude to their fans in Singapore, thanking them for their unwavering support through the years. The band also showed their love for Singaporeans by surprising the fans with ‘Singlish’ catch phrases like “Buey Tahan Sia” and “Swee La”.

They also talked about eating local cuisine, such as pepper and chili crabs, and even included references to these foods in the lyrics of their songs. For example, they sang, “everyone Chilli crab, crab, crab” rather than “clap, clap, clap,” which caused the audience to erupt in laughter. Kang Min-hyuk, the drummer, added that he like combining rice and the chili crab sauce.

CNBLUE kept the crowd entertained with a game of scissors, paper, stone, which led to bassist Lee Jung-shin donning a fake mustache for their following performance, Love Cut, which coincidentally has a wild west theme. In between sets, Leader Jung Yong-hwa directed a stadium-scaled wave from the audience on the third floor all the way to the standing pit. Later that evening, he uploaded the video he had taken of the stunning light show to their Instagram account as a memento of their performance in Singapore.

As the performance came to an end, CNBLUE had the crowd screaming for more. They elevated the energy level of the evening with not one, but two incredible encores that had the fans on the edge of their seats. Even after three and a half hours, Leader Yong-hwa was hesitant to call the concert over. His joy and passion were evident in the glint of his sweat as he told the audience, “I do not want to go home yet,” and then he closed it out with a powerful rendition of “Love is You.”

As the concert came to a conclusion, CNBLUE promised that they will return to Singapore as soon as possible and that their fans might expect a new album this year.
