Experience Korea with Lee Do-hyun’s recommendations

Thousands of K-Drama fans and visitors flocked to Our Tampines Hub on Saturday, 13 May 2023 for the Korea Travel Fair 2023 which features over 55 exhibitors including regional tourism organizations, airlines, travel agencies, and Korean retailers from 12 May -14 May 2023. The opening ceremony kicked off with traditional performance by Anseong Percussion, followed by a fusion performance of Taekwondo and Korean performing art which expressed calligraphy and drawing with creative choreography – a combination of forms and breaking techniques.

South Korean Actor Lee Do-hyun was invited as a special guest for the official opening ceremony and also participated in a travel talk segment where he shared his travel experience in different parts of Korea while shooting for his drama series.

For fans of K-Drama who will be travelling to Korea soon, Lee mentioned that the Love Tree’s scenery in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Mountain Seongheungsan which was featured in Hotel del Luna is breathtaking and the natural surroundings make one feel relaxed. He also mentioned The Glory filming locations Cheongju Central Park (featured in The Glory) which is home to a 1,000-year-old ginkgo tree and the city’s significant cultural heritages and monuments and also the Jumunjin Sodol Breakwater Red Lighthouse.
Lee personally recommends visiting Gunwi, Daegu to experience the traditional culture of Korea as he has filmed at the location for The Good Bad Mother. The next three locations mentioned were Gangnam, Gangneung and Busan. If you are a K-Foodie, Lee recommended having Tofu-related food in Paju and barbequed beef in Cheongju.

Taking note of Lee Do-hyun’s polite manners, the emcee remarked that Lee seems like a man with a pure heart. Lee further stated that his parents taught him to always say “Hello, Thankyou, and Sorry” from a young age, which has groomed him to be the gentleman he is today.
