[INTERVIEW] JUMP puts on 30,000th show in Singapore

Having performed worldwide in over 152 cities in more than 87 countries, Red Spade Entertainment brings the wacky action-packed Korean comedy sensation, JUMP, to Singapore for their 30, 000th show!

Bold, funny and fascinating, JUMP is set in a typical Korean home, revolving around an average yet dramatically agile family.

Combining comedy, martial arts, and acrobatics, eight kick-ass shenanigans showcase an incredible display of gymnastic and combat moves with a generous dosage of slapstick humor sure to tickle your funny bone.

From the dictatorial grandfather, drunken uncle and Tae Kwan Do savvy mother to the daughter’s inappropriate suitor, each member is a martial arts expert possessing championship levels of Taekwondo, Taekkyum, and butt-kicking moves.

KBeatsSG conducted an interview with Cara Han, CEO, Show & Arts Inc. & Producer of JUMP this afternoon, Friday 6 October.

It’s JUMP’s 30,000th show in Singapore, can you share with us what are some challenges faced during the start?

When we opened our first show in Singapore, our creative team was focused on the Asian audience because of the reception we received. The Singapore audience loved JUMP.

But when we decided to expand our show internationally, it was embarrassing because initially, they did not understand the comedy. We discussed the balance with our creative team to try and adapt to a universal audience.

Do you have any thoughts of adding celebrities into the show?

No, JUMP can’t pick up famous artistes due to physical limitations. Our cast members are equipped with the proper physical training to perform the intensive martial arts and acrobatics.

Can viewers expect something different on the 30,000th show?

JUMP has become livelier and our team has worked hard to improve our skills.

Catch jaw-dropping moves and be prepared to laugh out loud from October 6 to 8. Suitable for the whole family, this non-verbal theatre comedy will be staged live for four shows only at Resorts World Singapore Theatres. Tickets priced from $38 (excluding SISTIC booking fee), are available at all SISTIC outlets.

We would like to Thank Cara Han, CEO, Show & Arts Inc. & Producer of JUMP for taking time off for the interview, and also THE ORANGE PRESS for arranging the interview.
