TAEYANG, the lead singer of Big Bang is best known for his soulful voice. In 2008, Taeyang broke out as a solo artist with the EP “Hot”, which won Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Taeyang has been successfully building his career as a solo artist.

TAEYANG began to show his talent for composing songs and writing lyrics on his digital single, “Wedding Dress” has occupied the #1 and #2 spots respectively on the Canadian and US iTunes R&B/Soul album chart, a first for an Asian artist. This led him to release his debut solo album <SOLAR> in 2010. Taeyang won the “Best Male Artist” award at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Both the regular and the deluxe versions peaked at the number one position on the Gaon Album Chart. Three years later, Taeyang comeback with a powerful single “Ringa Linga” has drawn attention for his signature soulful voice and dance, as well as his hip-hop swag. Second solo album <RISE> was released in 2014. “Eyes, Nose, Lips” spawned numerous covers by various celebrities, including label-mates Akdong Musician, Tablo, Lydia Paek as well as Korean singer Eric Nam and Canadian pop star Michael Bublé. Taeyang then embarked on the Rise World Tour in support of the album. At the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards, Taeyang won Best Male Artist, Song of the Year for “Eyes, Nose, Lips” and Best Vocal Performance. “Eyes, Nose, Lips” has also won him numerous music award and making him a new leap forward to stand high in his music career.
